Why do most standard O-rings have the manufacture as "Generic"?

Around 2012 we switched to purchasing O-rings from a single U.S. based manufacture. 

Prior to then we were buying and stocking 1000's of O-rings from each parts manufacture and many SKU's were actually identical parts. For example Waterway 2" O-ring is the same as the AquaFlo/Balboa/Pentair... most of these O-rings had spent years in the OEM distribution system and were old and dried out by the time we received them. 

We condensed the list of matching SKU's to simplify the offering and us buying direct gives you better pricing, quality parts and better value!
